The Museum of the city of Tel Aviv – Yafo (the “Museum”) which the Municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo operates and manages, respects the privacy of the users of the Museum Website, which operates at the internet address www.taycm.org.il and at any other address in accordance with the Museum’s discretion (the “Website”).

This document will teach you about the Website's privacy policy. It reviews, inter alia, the way the Museum uses the personal information you give it and the information that will be collected about you when you use the Website. In this policy, the term "personal information" means any information that can reasonably be used to identify you, including your full name, your email address, phone number, personal information included in your stories (if you upload stories to the Website), and more.

Providing Details and Personal Information to the Museum

Use of the Museum's Website and the viewing of the content it displays do not involve registering or providing details and personal information.

However, uploading your story to the Museum's collection of stories will require you to complete a short registration process that includes providing personal and identifying details (full name, email address) and additional details as needed in the circumstances of the matter, in particular details about the story you will upload to the Website (the emotion expressed by the story, where the story took place - including by marking on the city map, when the story took place - date / period, as well as adding the free text of the story itself). You can also upload a file related to the story, such as an audio, video, or audio-visual file. The Website may include additional registration process for various digital services.

The fields that must be filled in will be explicitly marked. Without providing the requested details in the mandatory fields, you will not be able to register in the relevant area of the Website or upload the story to the collection of stories. You must provide only correct, accurate and complete details and you hereby confirm the correctness of the details you provided. The details and personal information you provide, as well as additional details about your use of the Website (as set forth later in this policy), will be kept by the Museum.

You are not required by law to provide the details and personal information. Providing them depends on your consent and your free will - however, providing incorrect details, or not providing all the required details, may prevent you from completing the registration or using some of the Website's services, damage the quality of the service provided to you, as well as damage the ability to contact you, if necessary.

We may collect additional information when you contact and correspond with the Museum, for example when you submit any requests or inquiries to the Museum, as well as when you sign up to receive advertisements and the Museum's newsletter. When you provide personal information of a third party, you declare that you have received their express consent to provide the information to the Museum, for the purpose of using this information in accordance with this policy.

 

Information Collected during Use of the Website

When you use the Website, the Museum may collect information about your practices in relation to the use of the Website or the relevant service, including content / stories you have uploaded or published, information you have read, the pages you have viewed, the services that have interested you, the location of your computer and the IP address through which you accessed the Website, the type of the operating system you use, the type of end device you have and more. In addition, the Museum may collect and use the services of third parties to collect and analyze anonymous, statistical, or aggregate information in connection with the aforementioned use, including information concerning your activity on the Website.

Use of the Information

The details and personal information you provide, and the details collected by the Museum during your use of the Website, will be used in accordance with this policy or according to the provisions of any law, for the following purposes -

§  To allow you to use the Website, the content included in it and the services it offers, including, to the extent relevant, registration and active participation in uploading stories to the collection of stories;

 

§  To improve and enrich the services and content on the Website and in the Museum, including creating new services and content that match the users’ requirements and expectations as well as changing or canceling existing services and content. The information that will be used by the Museum for this purpose will mainly be statistical information, which does not identify you personally;

 

§  To allow you to adjust the services on the Website to your preferences;

 

§  If you have given your consent to this in the designated places or when approving the Website's terms of use – to periodically send you advertisements, information about the services and contents of the Website and the Museum, activities related to it and the Museum, surveys, newsletters, direct mail inquiries, etc. Said information may be promotional in nature and may be sent to you via text messages, emails, or any other electronic or printed means, as set forth in the Website's terms of use;

 

§  To contact you when the Museum considers it necessary;

 

§  For analysis, control and delivery of statistical information to third parties. This information will not identify you personally;

 

§  For the proper operation and development of the Website and the Museum;

 

§  To enforce the terms of use of the Website or any of the binding documents, in order to comply with the requirements of any law, regulation or other legislation, as well as in order to assist authorized authorities and any third party, when the Museum believes in good faith that it must do so;

Delivering Information to Third Parties

The Museum will not transfer to third parties the personal information you provided and the details collected about your activity, except in the following cases -

§  To the extent that this is necessary for the proper delivery of the services of the Website or the Museum- we are entitled and may share personal information with third parties on our behalf, who assist us in operating the Website, in managing the Museum or in providing the services provided to you on the Website, such as subcontractors. These third parties may use your personal information and process it only to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide to us and in accordance with the Museum's guidelines;

 

§  If you breach the provisions of the Website's terms of use, or if you commit through the Website, or in connection with it, actions deemed by the Museum to be against the law or attempt to commit such actions;

 

§  If the Museum receives a judicial order, or a demand of an authorized authority, instructing it to hand over your details or the information about you to a third party;

 

§  In any dispute, claim, lawsuit, demand or legal proceedings, if any, between you and the Museum or anyone on its behalf;

 

§  In any case that the Museum believes that the delivery of the information is necessary to prevent serious bodily injury or damage to your property or to the body or property of a third party;

 

§  The Museum will be entitled to transfer your details and the information collected as a result of your use of the Website to other companies or organizations related to the Museum, provided that they use this information only according to the instructions of this policy;

 

§  For the purpose of providing and sharing anonymous, aggregate and statistical information with other companies or organizations associated with the Museum as well as with suppliers, business partners, advertisers and any third party, in accordance with the sole discretion of the Museum. The Museum will not knowingly reveal your identity to them without your consent;

 

§  If the Museum organizes its activity or the activity of the Website in a different framework, as well as in the event that it changes its legal structure, including in the event that it transfers the activity of the Website or any part of it to a third party - it will be entitled to transfer to the new entity a copy of the information about you that was stored, provided that this entity assumes on itself the provisions of this policy;

Where is the Information Stored?

The information that the Museum collects is kept in its database, which is stored at server hosting and data backup providers, which may also be located outside the borders of Israel. Additional information, as set forth in this policy, is collected and stored by other companies (such as statistical companies, etc.). They can also store the information outside the borders of the country. Your consent to this policy also constitutes consent to the storage of the information abroad and its transfer outside the borders of Israel.

The Museum regards the security of the information in its systems with utmost importance. However, there is no certainty that these applications absolutely guarantee that personal information will not be disclosed or stolen from the databases. Therefore, the Museum does not guarantee, and you cannot reasonably expect, that the services and information systems used by the Museum will be immune from unauthorized access to the information stored in them. By using the Website and its services, you are aware of and agree to these limitations.

 

Social Networks

The Museum makes available to users of the Website tools for sharing and linking content from the Website through social networks and various online services, and we also refer Website users to various social media channels of the Museum, such as the pages operated by the Museum on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram and more. Please note that the use of social networks and online services as mentioned is external and separate to the Website and subject to the privacy practices of those services and the privacy policy of each service as mentioned. This policy does not apply to the activity of these social networks or any online service operated by a third party.

 

Right to Review Information

According to the Privacy Protection Law, 5741 - 1981, every person has the right to review himself, or by his authorized representative authorized in writing or by a guardian, the information about him that is held in a database. A person who reviewed information about him and found that it is incorrect, incomplete, unclear or not updated, may contact the owner of the database with a request to correct the information or delete it. If the owner of the database refused, he must inform the applicant of this in the manner prescribed in the regulations by virtue of the Privacy Protection Law. The applicant of the information may appeal in the manner set forth in the regulations the refusal of the owner of the database to allow review and a notice of refusal to correct or delete information.
