Story in a Flag: A Family Workshop

A flag is more than just a colorful backdrop; through colors and symbols, it tells a complete story of history and identity. Join us for a unique workshop at the City Museum, where you can transform your personal stories into a family flag that reflects your values, memories, and dreams in color and form.

Bring materials from home that symbolize your family – fabric scraps, old buttons, special beads, and other meaningful items. Everything can contribute color and significance to your flag.

We will start with a tour of the museum where you will discover how Tel Aviv-Yafo uses symbols to narrate its story. In the workshop, parents and children together will explore their heritage, values, memories, and dreams. With a variety of materials and under the guidance of Shir Melech, a multidisciplinary artist in textiles and photography, you will create a flag that expresses your family's story.

At the end of the workshop, the chain of family flags will be displayed on the museum's historic balcony, and afterwards, you will be able to take them home.

The number of places is limited – don't miss the opportunity to create something meaningful and exciting that connects the past and present of your family in one symbol.
